Job Summary

Use consistent and accurate welding techniques to weld seals and maintain an inventory of this item.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Mig and Tig weld buildup to repair washed out or worn areas on control valves and components (Balls, Plugs, Discs, Shafts, etc.)
• Grind, sand, polish, valves and components back to factory specifications.
• Use mig bore welder to repair bonnets
• Weld diaphragms for sealed systems pressure transmitters using automated welding lathe
• Fabricate sealed systems per job orders
• Test sealed systems after fabrication with vacuum to ensure no leaks are present
• Build up stock or various parts for inventory (Seals, L brackets, Capsules, etc.)
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• 1+ years welding experience
• Working knowledge of might and tig welding
• Must be able to pass 2G weld certification

Required Skills and Attributes

• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to weld various metals, mild steel, 316, Hastelloy, stellite alloy 6
• Operate mig and tig welders, drill press and various hand tools
• Operate oxy acetylene torch safely
• Keep up with inventory control of consumable welding and grinding items
• Fabricate carts, fixtures, and various other items

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Must be able to stand 6 - 8 hours per shift
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds
