The Utility position supports various stages of the investment casting process by performing general labor tasks, cleaning, material handling, and machine operation as needed. This role is vital in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient production environment to ensure timely and high-quality output. This position is eligible for shift premium and a $2000 Sign On Bonus!!
What you will be doing:
- Transport materials, molds, and castings between departments using carts, forklifts, or other equipment.
- Assist in injecting patterns, preparing molds, shell building, dewaxing, part cut-off and/or finishing processes as directed.
- Clean work areas, equipment, and tools to maintain a safe and organized workspace.
- Monitor and replenish raw materials and supplies for production areas (e.g., wax, slurry, sand).
- Support shell room operations by loading/unloading molds and monitoring curing cycles.
- Assist with loading and unloading furnaces or autoclaves, following all safety procedures.
- Remove ceramic shells, clean cast parts, and dispose of waste materials properly.
- Document completed tasks or report equipment malfunctions to the Lead.
- Adhere to company safety policies and wear required PPE.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support production and facility operations
Requirements
What you will bring to the team:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior experience in a foundry, metal casting, or manufacturing environment is a plus
- Basic math and reading skills for interpreting work instructions and safety procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to foster and promote a positive work environment.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Must be hands on and proactive about correcting problems.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- Must be able to work in noisy, hot/cold environments.
- Must be able to ,bend, stretch, squat, and climb to access all parts of the machine
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
- Team player with strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in hot, dusty, or noisy environments with appropriate PPE.
