Job Summary
The Director of Online Pharmacy Operations will lead the strategy, compliance, and execution of BaRupOn's e-pharmacy services. This role oversees fulfillment workflows, staff coordination, logistics, digital compliance, and patient experience. The director will work closely with IT, pharmacy, and regulatory teams to ensure a secure, scalable, and fully licensed digital pharmacy platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of online pharmacy fulfillment, staffing, and logistics
- Ensure full compliance with state board regulations, telepharmacy laws, and HIPAA/PHI standards
- Implement workflows for prescription intake, processing, pharmacist review, and order shipment
- Manage digital prescription platforms and e-commerce integrations (e.g., online portals, EMRs)
- Track operational KPIs: order accuracy, delivery times, refill compliance, and patient satisfaction
- Collaborate with IT to optimize order management, secure data transmission, and system performance
- Coordinate licensing for multi-state operations and third-party pharmacy relationships
- Lead hiring, training, and performance reviews for online pharmacy staff
Qualifications
- PharmD or Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Pharmacy, or a related field
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in pharmacy operations, with 2+ years in e-pharmacy or telepharmacy
- Experience managing high-volume prescription fulfillment and logistics
- In-depth knowledge of pharmacy compliance (state boards, DEA, HIPAA, NABP digital pharmacy requirements)
- Strong leadership, project management, and digital systems skills
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience launching or scaling an online pharmacy or telehealth pharmacy service
- Familiarity with third-party platforms (e.g., Capsule, NowRx, Alto)
- Knowledge of pharmacy automation, e-commerce systems, or digital health integrations
- Board of Pharmacy-approved PIC credentials in multiple states (preferred)
