Position Summary:

The CDL Driver in Gel Recycling is responsible for transporting recyclable materials between facilities, collection points, and other relevant locations. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of recycling materials while complying with all relevant regulations and guidelines.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Vehicle Operation:

  •  Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle, typically with a CDL (Commercial Driver’s License), to transport Recycling materials.
  • Conduct pre-Trip and pots-trip inspections of the vehicle in a safe and secure manor.

Loading and unloading:

  • Ensure that all materials are properly secured for transportation to prevent spills or damage.

Route Planning:

  • Plan and follow efficient transportation routes to minimize travel time and fuel consumption.
  • Use GPS or other navigation tools to navigate routes accurately.

Compliance and Regulations:

  • Adhere to all relevant transportation laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and environmental regulations related to Gel Recycling.

Documentation:

  • Complete and maintain accurate records of daily activities, including driving hours, vehicle inspections, and material transportation details.
  • Ensure that all required permits and documentation for transporting hazardous or regulated materials are in order.

Safety Procedures:

  • Follow establishes safety procedures and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report any accidents, incidents, or safety hazards immediately.

Job Qualifications

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • CDL Class A or B

Experience and Competencies:

  • At least 2 years of commercial driving experience (Class A or B CDL), with a proven record of safe and efficient operation of large vehicles. (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of regional and national road networks and the ability to navigate using maps or GPS systems.
  • Experience performing routine vehicle inspections and basic troubleshooting (e.g., checking tires, brakes, lights).
  • Strong understanding of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and compliance, including driving hours, rest periods, and safety protocols.
