Under the supervision of the Executive Sous Chef, this hybrid position is responsible for coordinating the preparation and production of hot foods, pantry, and bakery items. This position is responsible for daily food rotation, labeling, as well as the cleanliness of the entire kitchen and food services preparation. This position may also be responsible for educating volunteers/trainees in the culinary arts job training program using the approved culinary training curriculum. The schedule for this position is 10:30am - 7:30pm Tuesday - Saturday.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinates the production of hot foods, pantry, bakery, and catered menu items.
• Maintains work areas, kitchen equipment, and food handling procedures to ensure compliance with all safety and health codes   
• Prepares and labels food items for daily use and special events
• Monitors food rotation and inventory levels to effectively maintain wholesome and nutritious products and product selections 
• Organizes materials, tools, and equipment to perform all daily assignments
• Safely handles any/all approved chemicals, in accordance with safety data sheets and regulations
• Adjusts to fluctuating peaks in client flow, acuity, and other operational demands while consistently maintaining all quality standards 
• Sets up and breaks down food stations during designated mealtimes
• Ensures food rotation, proper labeling, and storage compliance
• Maintains cleanliness of kitchen equipment and dining areas
• Understands and complies with any/all county/state/federal health codes
• Collaborates professionally with leadership, employees, and members
• Follows all posted cleaning and organizational duties
• Assists in receiving and storing food deliveries in an effective and efficient manner
• Perform additional duties as assigned
