Purpose of the job:
- Provide global leadership & controllership excellence across the division
- Lead implementation of corporate initiatives, including improvements in accounting KPIs, accounting standards, internal control improvements, process improvements, and this includes for escalation of matters before raising to Group Controllership.
- This person will be a key member of the PHD finance leadership team
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Oversee and ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes in line with Group Controllership expectations
- Work across the division to ensure compliance with internal controls
- Lead, manage & develop accounting talent in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Thailand & China
- Act as liaison with local teams, SSC and Group Controllership for resolution of issues, conflicts and improvements
- Support achievement of KPIs for A/R and A/P for sites not managed through SSC
- Support teams to ensure compliance with local requirements
- Lead Internal Audit issues resolutions for PHD
- Foster talent development and succession planning across the accounting teams to ensure long-term strength in controllership capabilities
- Work with Division CFO on accounting questions - act as arbiter when conflict arises and involve Group Controllership as needed
- Act as the single point of contact for escalation for external audit matters and from internal departments across the division regarding accounting related topics (Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, etc.)
- Perform balance sheet reviews within the sites (as needed or as directed by Group Controller or the Division CFO)
- Contribute to development of standards / Group Accounting policies
- In consultation with Group Controllership, provide guidance to the division on new complex accounting issues not covered under Group Accounting policies
- Escalation of local issues to Group Controllership and Division CFO as required
- Be the authority on accounting matters, including supporting others in their research, analysis and conclusions
- Lead/direct process improvement initiatives with teams, Corporate and the kp BuS
Leadership:
- Directly lead the accounting teams in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Thailand & China.
- Lead by influence and collaboration with all site finance leads, functional leaders & PHD staff
Interfaces and relationship management:
- Ensure a strong collaborative relationship with site/financial controllers and the SSC team to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting
- Maintaining a direct line of communication with Group Controllership, Division CFO, Tax, Treasury and Internal Audit to prevent surprises in financial or operating results and internal control design and/or effectiveness
- Support and interact with PHD business & functional leadership and broader members of the finance community
- Strong partnership with the broader Global Controllership team across FP & Group to ensure alignment on accounting and controls.
Qualifications & experiences:
- 10+ years experience in accounting
- Proven leadership experience
- University degree in economics or finance with a focus on accounting or equivalent qualifications
- Proficient technical understanding of the overall accounting process and technical solutions
- Professional accounting certification preferred, but not required

- Proficient English language skills, further knowledge of other languages is an advantage, but not required
