Who we're looking for

Toyota's Performance Analysis and Evaluation Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Vehicle Environment Technician.

The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct vehicle environmental evaluations.

Reporting to a Technician Supervisor, the person in this role will support the Performance Analysis and Evaluation department's objective's to safely, accurately collect and report data to support vehicle development for North American Customers.

What you'll be doing

  • Support evaluation planning, vehicle component retrofit, and vehicle environmental on-road and off-road evaluations.

  • Execute component level evaluations (fatigue and deformation) using robots.

  • Complete component verifications, modifications, and mockups.

  • Collect evaluation data using data acquisition equipment.

  • Confirm accuracy of data collected during evaluation process.

  • Strongly support Toyota Safety processes, kaizen, and 5S.

What you bring

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Automotive Engineering Technology or similar; and/or at least 5+ years of relevant automotive evaluation experience.

  • Demonstrated experience conducting component level evaluations.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Proven fabrication experience using machine shop equipment including welding, milling, and metal forming.

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working with CMM's.

  • This position requires driving for evaluations. A motor vehicle record that's acceptable by company standards is required for this position.

  • Ability to replace, retrofit, and modify vehicle components.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 35% of the time.

  • Willingness to work 10 hours overtime or as needed.
