Job Description

Are you an experienced nurse leader with a passion for psychiatric care? We're looking for a Nurse Manager to join our behavioral health team and oversee nursing operations across Inpatient, PHP, and ECT services.

Position Overview:

As the Weekend Nurse Manager, you will play a key leadership role in managing clinical staff, ensuring quality patient care, and supporting regulatory compliance. This role collaborates directly with the Chief Nursing Officer and provides day-to-day oversight of staffing, safety initiatives, and professional development within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage nursing staff across Inpatient, PHP, and ECT units.

  • Oversee hiring, scheduling, supervision, and performance management of clinical staff.

  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, Medicare/Medicaid, and state regulations.

  • Collaborate with clinical educators to ensure effective onboarding and continued training.

  • Monitor and improve care quality, patient safety, and outcomes.

  • Support the admissions process for timely and safe patient placements.

  • Participate in root cause analysis and incident debriefings.

  • Serve on key committees (e.g., Pharmacy, Staff Development).

Qualifications:

  • Required:

  • Current Maryland RN license (or compact license with multistate privileges).

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

  • Minimum 5 years of RN experience in a psychiatric inpatient setting.

  • At least 2 years of experience in a nursing leadership or supervisory role.

  • Current BLS certification.

  • Preferred:

  • Experience with regulatory readiness and survey processes.

  • Strong communication and team-building skills.

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record if operating Meritus vehicles.
