About the Role: Chef

As a Chef, you'll play a key role in supporting the health, happiness, and daily experience of the residents at Hearthstone in Pella.

As a Chef, you will:

• Hands-On Leadership Opportunities: Collaborate closely with Culinary Leadership to supervise daily operations, guide staff, and take on a leadership role in their absence.
• Creative and Strategic Input: Contribute ideas for menu planning, operational improvements, and resource management-including purchasing, scheduling, and waste control.
• Skill Development & Training: Play a key role in onboarding and mentoring new team members, while having opportunities to lead in-service training based on your expertise.
• Commitment to Culinary Excellence: Ensure high standards in food quality, quantity, and timely production-especially during peak service hours.
• Focus on Safety and Sanitation: Maintain a clean, safe kitchen by following infection control protocols and sanitary practices in all food handling and prep activities.

Qualifications:

• Formal culinary education or a combination of education and fine dining experience
• Minimum of 3 years cooking experience required
• ServSafe Certification(preferred)
• Skilled in menu creation, purchasing, cost control, and banquet production
