Job Description

Description

Tyler Technologies is hiring a Technical Analyst to support digital government services across the State of Kansas. In this role, you'll play a critical part in implementing and maintaining secure, scalable solutions that improve how Kansans interact with their government, from DMV services to professional licensing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Solution Configuration & Deployment: Configure SaaS-based solutions for Kansas agencies using Tyler's tools. Set up integrations, data connections, and application settings to support agency needs.
  • Collaborate with Developers and Project Teams: Act as a technical bridge between business analysts, agency stakeholders, and developers. Help translate functional requirements into system design and configuration.
  • Perform System Testing & Troubleshooting: Create and execute test cases for new features, system updates, and issue resolutions. Investigate bugs or performance issues and support root cause analysis.
  • Support Data Integrations & File Exchanges: Work with APIs, SFTP transfers, and flat file exchanges with external partners (e.g., KBI, KDOR, counties) to ensure data is transferred securely and accurately.
  • Monitor Production Systems: Provide post-launch technical support. Track incidents, manage service tickets, and ensure uptime for critical public-facing systems in Kansas.
  • Contribute to Documentation: Write technical documentation, configuration notes, and environment details to support long-term maintainability and cross-team clarity.
  • Security & Compliance Awareness: Apply state security standards and best practices to all technical configurations. Understand and support Kansas-specific compliance requirements.
  • Partner Engagement: Collaborate with agency IT teams and Kansas OITS (Office of Information Technology Services) when coordinating changes or deploying new systems.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 3+ years of relevant technical analyst, systems implementation, or support experience, preferably in a government or SaaS environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with web-based platforms, JSON/XML, SQL, APIs, and low-code tools. Familiarity with file transfer protocols, such as SFTP, is key.
  • Problem Solving & Attention to Detail: Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to resolve technical issues with minimal supervision.
  • Communication Skills: Comfortable explaining technical details to both developers and non-technical stakeholders at Kansas agencies.
  • Team-Oriented and Self-Directed: Able to work independently on tasks while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Nice to Have: Familiarity with Kansas government systems, Drupal CMS, or public sector digital transformation projects.
