A Day in the Life:
In this role, you'll support our team with diverse and impactful projects related to litigation matters. You'll be responsible for drafting correspondence, assisting with both paper and electronic document collection, and tracking legal matters meticulously. Your skills in reviewing and producing documents, along with scanning, copying, filing, and organizing materials, will ensure the smooth operation of our legal processes. As a key player in the litigation team, you'll be heavily relied upon by in-house counsel, making your contributions vital to our success.
The Impact You'll Make:
- Investigate facts and law of case to determine causes of action and to prepare the case accordingly.
- Understand intermediate e-discovery and computer forensics concepts such as litigation holds, preservation of data, and chain of custody.
- Perform research (factual, legal, internet and other) to identify issues and relevant matters and prepares compilation of findings.
- Support in-house litigation team - drafting correspondence, assisting with paper and electronic document collection, tracking matters, and reviewing and producing of documents, as well as scanning, copying, filing and organizing materials.
- Coordinate automated litigation support projects through utilization of technology, including but not limited to, database management software (web or in-house) and Excel.
- Assists with department projects as needed and performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Who You Are:
- Prefer a Bachelor's Degree in the field of Paralegal studies, Business, or related field.
- Additional Experience Desired: Between 3-5 years of experience in solid litigation.
- Additional Experience Desired: Between 3-5 years of experience in an in-house legal department preferred, however, exceptional candidates with only law firm experience will be considered.
- Computer Skills Desired: Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Experience with database management software and Excel, in-house, and medium case collection.
- Preferred Certifications: Bachelor's Degree and Paralegal Certificate from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited program.
- Additional Knowledge or Skills to be Successful in this role: Candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge and understand the litigation process and e-discovery.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality of the firm's internal and personnel affairs and client information.
- Understands ethics of position including ethical rules regarding confidentiality, billing and client representation and advocacy.
- Collaborates effectively and professionally with clients and all levels of personnel, including attorneys, coworkers, and administrators.
- Capable of managing and working on large litigation-related projects.
- Possesses very strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with attorneys and staff.
- Must be a proactive self-starter who understands the details within a much larger context.
- Must be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities.
- Able to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple, detailed tasks simultaneously, prioritizing appropriately.
- Must deliver high quality work products and have the ability to follow up and follow through.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as a team player, in a fast-paced environment.
Monster Energy provides a competitive total compensation; this position has an annual estimated salary of $79,500 - $106,000. The actual pay may vary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.
