Description

Valley of the Sun United Way is looking for a Senior Workplace Giving Senior Director. The Workplace Giving Senior Director will oversee a team to drive revenue growth in a portfolio of current and prospective partners. The Senior Workplace Director will be responsible for managing and growing fundraising pipeline with corporate partners, as a strategic advisor, expert fundraiser, and partnership manager, with a focus on employee giving campaigns and volunteer initiatives. The position contributes to the annual growth of revenue by strategically designing resources to reinvigorate current workplace campaigns for growth and by driving mid-level giving through membership groups and peer-to-peer fundraising to develop a repeatable, sustainable giving base to Valley of the Sun United Way. The Senior Workplace Director will be responsible for:

Workplace Giving

  • Cultivate and steward key relationships with Corporate Social Responsibility and Workplace Ambassador contacts to drive meaningful partner experiences through campaigns
  • Provide high-level customer service and strategic counsel to maximize participation and giving from partners' employees
  • Set the ongoing vision, strategy, and implementation of United Way's relationship- and issue-based workplace giving plan as a motivator for increased corporate engagement and giving
  • Develop tactics to maximize the results of employer match programs
  • Oversee the development and implementation of Workplace Ambassador training and engagement to create cohorts of embedded mission champions in the workplace
  • Drive a deeper understanding of VSUW's mission and impact among our workplace ambassadors and other volunteers that activates their ability to fundraise on our behalf
  • Oversee employee giving campaigns and creates meaningful growth through best practice strategies to grow participation and average gifts
  • Drive and expand corporate partnerships by designing SCR initiatives with measurable outcome, tracking key performance indicators such as funding secured, employee engagement, and social return on investment
  • Oversee Corporate Social Responsibility Advisory Circle
  • Reimagine ways to engage individuals in the workplace channel to drive new levels of giving
  • Drive the growth of Leadership ($1,000 - $9,999) and Tocqueville ($10,000) giving through increasing membership in impact aligned membership groups
  • Collaborate with Individual Giving team to develop prospects for higher-level giving
  • Represent VSUW at partner campaign events, meetings, and speaking engagements
  • Develop an annual solicitation plan to grow corporate pipeline
  • Partner with Corporate and Foundation Director to secure funds outside of workplace campaigns, including corporate sponsorships, special events and employee engagement projects

Fundraising Strategy, Revenue Growth & Innovation

  • Be a passionate advocate of our mission and be able to advocate among our corporate partners and their employees
  • Set and meet annual revenue goals and participation metrics
  • Apply data analytics to understand trends in giving and participation, including acquisition of new donors and retention or loss of current donors, and adjust strategies to maximize impact
  • Collaborate with the marketing function to coordinate compelling, mission-aligned communications and solicitation plans with the goal of maximizing revenue
  • Monitor and report on fundraising campaign performance, including revenue, participation rates, acquisition and retention; use analysis to influence and educate future fundraising campaigns
  • Collaborate with IT team to develop technology solutions that increase ease of giving and enhance donor relations
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure timely acknowledgment and recognition of donors

Team Management & Development

  • Mentors and coaches a diverse team of fundraisers to grow skillsets, support individual professional development goals, and inspire team members to both lead and follow.
  • Provides direct but respectful constructive feedback in real-time and during formal review periods to elevate team performance, maintain accountability, and reach goals
  • Partners with other VSUW leadership to build revenue generating relationships and to achieve our financial community impact goals.
  • Serves on the Strategic Partnerships leadership team and contribute to the overall direction of the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in annual giving, membership development, peer-to-peer fundraising, or philanthropic marketing required, with at least 2 years in a leadership role leading one of these areas preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supervising and developing direct reports required
