Java DevOps Engineer (with .NET Expertise)

Are you passionate about automation, continuous improvement, and modern DevOps practices? Raymond James is seeking a DevOps Engineer with Java development skills and a solid understanding of .NET build and deployment processes. In this role, you'll help streamline software delivery across the firm by building internal tools, enhancing CI/CD pipelines, and supporting .NET deployments.

Note: This role does not involve active .NET development. However, a solid understanding of .NET build and deployment workflows is essential.

Job Description

This position follows our hybrid workstyle policy: Expected to be in a Raymond James office location a minimum of 10-12 days a month.

Please note: This role is not eligible for immigration Work Visa sponsorship, either currently or in the future.

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate and optimize software delivery.
• Build and maintain internal tools and integrations using Java.
• Support and troubleshoot .NET build and deployment pipelines.
• Design and enhance CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor deployments using automated testing and quality gates.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule (once every 7 weeks; minimal after-hours support).

Requirements:

• Experience with Java for backend development and pipeline integration
• Experience with .NET build tools (MSBuild, NuGet, .NET CLI)
• Experience in DevOps, CI/CD, or build/release engineering
• Experience with Jenkins (Groovy a plus)
• Solid understanding of Git and source control strategies
• Excellent troubleshooting skills for build and deployment issues
• Comfortable working in a hybrid environment
• Willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with Azure DevOps Server, SonarQube, and CI/CD metrics tools
• Exposure to cloud-native deployments (Azure, AWS)
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular)
• Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python
• Experience in regulated or enterprise environments
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Eagerness to learn and share knowledge

Bachelor’s: Business Administration, Bachelor’s: Computer and Information Science, High School (HS) (Required)
