About the team
The Special Law Enforcement Operations Lead is responsible for conducting in-depth investigations and projects that directly support the safety and integrity of our community and marketplace. The lead will drive thorough, results-driven investigations, crafting effective vehicle theft strategies, and leveraging relationships with law enforcement and prosecutorial partners when necessary.
What you will do
Foster a reliable network of external partners, including law enforcement, the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), and regional fusion centers, to expand intelligence-sharing and strengthen responsiveness to emerging threats in different regions to support investigative outcomes and organizational priorities.
Manage and execute high-impact investigative initiatives within the Complex Investigations Team, establishing clear milestones and delivering timely insights and actionable recommendations.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Trust & Safety, Claims, and Fraud teams to design and implement strategic plans that strengthen risk mitigation efforts and enhance incident response capabilities.
Drive the execution of anti-theft strategies, aligning investigative deliverables with broader business objectives.
Take ownership of critical, high-visibility projects assigned by leadership, demonstrating agility, initiative, and accountability in driving results and supporting team success.
Must be in the office at least 2 days per week.
Your profile
5+ years of Law Enforcement experience in vehicle theft, special operations, or other investigative roles
Superb and dynamic investigative, communication, and interpersonal skills with good working knowledge of the applicable State and/or Federal Criminal Statutes
Strong presentation skills to brief the Trust & Safety Leadership, Law Enforcement, and Prosecutors on the facts of your investigations
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities and projects
Highly organized with strong problem-solving skills and exercise proper time management skills while managing their work efficiently.
Willing to work outside of normal hours, commitment to high responsiveness, and availability
Can quickly adapt to new technology, workflows, and systems: experience with Kustomer, CRM systems, Google Docs, and MS Office preferred. Mac expertise is a plus
Demonstrates Turo's values through work product and within day-to-day team interactions.

For this role, the target base salary range in Phoenix is $75,000-$90,000 annually. This role is also eligible for equity and benefits. In general, our ranges reflect the market-based target for new hire salaries based on the level and location of the role. Within the range, individual pay is determined by objective factors assessed during the application and interview process, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
