About the Role

We are looking for a Founding Graphic Designer who is excited about dragging the defense industry into the digital age. In this role, you'll work closely with our founders, product, and sales teams to craft visual experiences that make AI feel trustworthy to the most skeptical buyers on earth. You'll be instrumental in defining not just what our brand looks like, but how an entire industry perceives modern technology.

You are not just making pretty graphics — you are visually spearheading the transformation that will make GovTech the next boom.

What You Will Work On

• Partner with founders, sales, and marketing teams to create visual materials that convert defense contractors who've never heard of "user experience"

• Lead the design of critical sales assets — from animated product demos to case studies that close 7-figure deals

• Build interactive Framer experiences that make defense contractors question everything they thought they knew about software

• Create product animations that engage businesses so traditional they still think PowerPoint templates are cutting-edge

• Establish the visual language that positions Usul as the company bringing defense tech into the modern era

• Raise the bar for design quality in an industry that's been visually stuck in 2003

Who You Are

• 2+ years of graphic design experience, ideally within B2B startups or enterprise-focused environments

• Absolutely cracked at Framer and Figma — you build interactive experiences that feel like products, not just pretty portfolios

• Able to demonstrate a portfolio of visual work that simplified complex technical concepts for traditional or conservative audiences

• Skilled at creating animations and motion graphics that educate skeptical audiences and build trust in new technology

• Expert in modern AI web design tools and can adapt Silicon Valley design trends for change-resistant industries

• Thrive in ambiguity and love helping define both the visual problem and the solution

• Deep attention to detail — from polished interfaces to trust-building microinteractions

• Located in San Francisco and excited to work in-person with our team

Bonus Points

• Experience designing for traditional industries: government, defense, or highly regulated sectors

• Expert fluency in Framer, Figma, After Effects — you live in these tools and push their limits

• Understanding of enterprise sales cycles and how design supports complex B2B/B2G deals

• Experience creating visual content that builds credibility with risk-averse decision makers
