Saint Joseph’s University’s Department of Political Science has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct faculty to staff a variety of courses each semester. We are looking for the support of highly qualified, capable, and experienced adjunct instructors.

Saint Joseph’s University’s Department of Political Science has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct faculty to staff a variety of courses each semester.  We are looking for the support of highly qualified, capable, and experienced adjunct instructors. 


Presently, we have a specific need for faculty to teach within the field of American Politics, International Relations/Global Politics, Comparative Politics, Political Theory, and Public Policy.


Part-time adjunct faculty may instruct 1 or 2 courses each semester on an “as needed” basis. Courses available for adjunct staffing are typically offered during the day and may include:

1. Intro to American Politics

2. Intro to Comparative Politics
3. Intro to Global Politics

4. Intro to Political Theory

5. Topics in Public Policy
 

Duties and Responsibilities: Teaching of a specified course, Preparation of materials, Providing support and guidance to students, and Grade reporting and assessment.

In addition to meeting all scheduled class session, adjunct faculty are expected to offer one hour of office hours each week.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s Degree in Political Science, International Relations, or a closely related field. Previous teaching/training experience.

Preferred Qualifications: ABD or PhD in Political Science, International Relations, or closely related field. Willingness to be flexible in class scheduling.
