Job Description

THE COMPANY: Meadowbrook Village Christian Retirement Community is a non-profit organization in Escondido that opened in 2009. We are licensed as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) and offer independent, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing services. We seek to help our residents age in place as we strive toward our mission to "honor God by serving others with love and compassion."

JOB DESCRIPTION: We're seeking a friendly and organized addition to our team as a receptionist/attendant at our fitness center, which is open to the public as well as to our senior residents. This position requires an independent individual who can provide positive customer service in person, by phone, and online. The fitness center attendant is also responsible for record keeping and monthly reports; successful candidates will be organized and able to follow written or verbal directions. This is a student-friendly position.

HOURS: This is a part-time (15 hours) position on Mondays 8am-2pm, Thursdays 8am-noon, and Fridays 8am-12:30pm.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide customer service over the phone and in person as needed, including greeting members, opening doors, responding to inquiries, and submitting concerns & requests through proper channels
  • Check for emails and phone messages throughout the day
  • Report any issues with equipment, etc. to appropriate department
  • Set up for weekly class (includes stacking and unstacking chairs)
  • Use gym software to create/update/terminate memberships
  • Enter or export data into Excel spreadsheets / Google Sheets
  • Various other office tasks as assigned by the Office Manager or Executive Director

QUALIFICATIONS: To excel at this position, candidates should…

  • Exhibit genuine interest in our resident senior population
  • Be eager to serve residents and members
  • Have basic experience with Microsoft Office and Excel and/or Google Doc and Sheets
  • Pay attention to details
  • Be self-motivated to follow through on projects and tasks
  • Behave professionally and exercise confidentiality according to HIPPA regulations
  • Be able to pass a fingerprint background check, TB test, health exam, and drug screening (required for all employees working in our community)

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $16.50 per hour

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • No nights
  • No weekends

Experience:

  • Customer service: 1+ year (Preferred)
  • Microsoft Office or Google Docs: 1+ year (Preferred)
  • Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets: 1+ year (Preferred)
