Job Description
The 1st Shift Bagging Operator plays an essential role in supporting the Senior Operator and ensuring smooth day-to-day production activities. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining key equipment, performing quality checks, and ensuring compliance with safety and food manufacturing standards. Operators are expected to maintain accuracy in documentation, support equipment changeovers, and uphold a safe and organized work environment. Operators are expected to follow established procedures while escalating complex issues to the Senior Operator or Team Lead.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Comply with all safety policies and food safety standards (GMP, HACCP, and site-specific requirements).
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in alignment with 5S principles.
Operate equipment, assist in setup and breakdown of equipment, adjustments, and changeovers on bagging, weighing, and depositing systems.
Support the flow of materials and film management to maintain continuous production.
Monitor, record, and interpret production sheets (e.g., NASH and loose meal sheets) to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Operate and perform routine adjustments on production equipment (e.g., checkweighers, MultiVac & VC999 systems, Marlen).
Assist with equipment breakdowns and assemblies as part of regular production changeovers.
Ensure timely and accurate execution of SKU changes and pocket depth adjustments.
Conduct and record quality checks in line with standards.
Identify and escalate equipment or product nonconformances to the Senior Operator.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Professional Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic computer/iPad literacy for reporting and documentation.
Knowledge / Experience
- 1+ years of manufacturing or production experience (food industry preferred).
- Strong knowledge of GMPs, food safety, and regulatory standards.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
- Mechanical aptitude to assist with equipment changeovers and adjustments.
