Job Description

Kawasaki Precision Machinery, (U.S.A.), Inc., headquartered in Grand Rapids, MI and a division of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., has an immediate opening for a Warehouse Associate. This key role is a full-time position and eligible for a full benefits package which includes a 401K with immediate vesting. With a strong emphasis on safety and accuracy, this position performs assigned warehouse duties including, but not limited to, stock control, order picking, packing, shipping, and housekeeping.

Responsibilities:

  • Accept deliveries, being sure to verify piece count against bill of lading, inspect for damage and sign for shipment.
  • Re-Package items for added protection during shipping.
  • Store received material, re-organizing stock as necessary.
  • Inspect stock to verify the location contains the correct item number; it is in re-saleable condition, and adequately packed.
  • Select items using industrial truck or by hand to fill customer orders.
  • Determine packaging requirements and pack items accordingly for shipment.
  • Load packages into carrier vehicles.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized work area.
  • Continuously reviews processes to ensure operations are meeting measurable.
  • Works with supervisor in scheduling all labor to meet customer satisfaction.
  • Implementation of ISO, and 5S procedures.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma is required.

  • 4+ years related experience in a warehouse environment.

  • Extensive experience with fork trucks and warehouse equipment.

  • Hilo Certification.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Outlook

  • Understanding of shipping procedures.

  • Able to communicate with customers and departments in a calm manor, understand things are ever changing, able to communicate shipment changes, handle stress, etc.

  • Thrive in a past paced/team environment.
