Join our Clothes Care Technology team and play a crucial role in designing the next generation of clothes dryers with cutting-edge filter systems. We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Design Engineer to focus on the design, analysis, and optimization of filter systems for clothes dryer process air. This role is integral to both new product introduction (NPI) and cost of quality (COQ) initiatives. You will develop filter designs that meet consumer, system, and manufacturing requirements, utilizing your hands-on engineering skills to drive success.

How You'll Create Possibilities

  • Design and optimize consumer-serviceable process air filters for advanced clothes drying technology.
  • Manage product development projects from concept to production, ensuring successful NPI processes and manufacturing implementation.
  • Innovate new product designs, identify performance-enhancing solutions, and support existing product lines.
  • Utilize advanced engineering analysis to design and refine parts, assemblies, and systems for optimal performance and cost efficiency.
  • Conduct hands-on testing and prototyping to validate designs, resolve issues, and optimize functionality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, manufacturing, quality, and commercial, to ensure product performance meets consumer and market expectations.
  • Contribute to quality improvement projects (COQ) to enhance overall product quality.
  • Utilize CAD tools (such as CREO) to create, modify, and release drawings and BOMs.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure proper material selection and process applicability.
  • Participate in engineering and reliability lab activities to test and validate new design concepts.
  • Integrate AI and other advanced technologies into product designs to enhance functionality and performance.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of design engineering experience, preferably in consumer appliances or a technical field focused on process air filtration and consumer touchpoints.
  • Proficient in CAD software (e.g., CREO, SolidWorks).
  • Experience with materials selection, cost reduction strategies, and designing for manufacturability.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, air filtration, air sealing, and components with consumer interactions.
  • Proven experience in contributing to product development projects, including NPI and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and utilizing tools to validate designs.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex systems and propose design solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
