Job Description

In our Tax Intern role, you will communicate with our clients and get an understanding of their businesses and how we can help them be successful. This will include performing various aspects of tax compliance, projections, preparing responses to tax notices, assistance with special projects, and communicating with clients and building relationships.
During your internship, you should expect to:
+ Begin to develop an understanding of standard Schedule M-1 adjustments.
+ Begin to understand and employ the concept of self-review (review work for obvious errors).
+ Clear review notes on a timely and thorough basis.
+ Develop basic research skills.
+ Identify apparent tax issues and is able to discuss them effectively with others.
+ Participate in internal training, as appropriate.
+ Prepare tax projections.
+ Prepare tax returns for review and thoroughly address all review points after reviewed.
+ Review tax law developments and determines which developments apply to clients.
+ Utilize research databases effectively (including Master Tax Guide, RIA Checkpoint, CCH, BNA Portfolios).
+ Utilize technology for increased efficiency.
+ Utilize basic writing skills and be able to draft tax correspondence.
+ Prepare federal, state and local correspondence to tax authorities.
+ Work effectively with standard tax and firm software applications.
