Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Manager/Officer to lead our on-site and corporate safety initiatives. The ideal candidate will hold a CHST certification, along with OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 credentials, and will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment in compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with OSHA and company standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments of job sites and facilities.
- Provide safety training and toolbox talks to employees and subcontractors (e.g., hazard communication, PPE, fall protection).
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and injuries to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate safety records including inspections, incidents, training logs, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Serve as a liaison with OSHA and other regulatory agencies during inspections or audits.
- Support emergency response planning and conduct drills as required.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
- CHST Certification (Required)
- OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 Certifications (Required)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in safety management, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety protocols, and best practices.
- Strong communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in incident reporting systems and safety management software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments and job sites.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
First Aid/CPR Certification
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (a plus but not required)
