JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced International Tax Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will oversee the U.S. international tax services function for a wide range of clients across various industries and markets. The ideal candidate will have experience with tax compliance, planning, and consulting for multinational clients, ensuring compliance with U.S. international tax laws. You will work closely with partners, clients, and cross-functional teams to develop tax strategies that optimize global tax positions while mitigating risks.JOB DESCRIPTION
Essential Functions:
Tax Compliance & Reporting:
- Fully manages the international tax components of client engagements across a wide-range of client types and industries.
- Oversees the preparation and review of the international aspects of U.S. tax filings, including Forms 5471, 5472, 8858, 8865, 1118, et. al.
- Ensures compliance with U.S. international tax regulations, including BEPS, GILTI, FDII, Subpart F, and foreign tax credit calculations, and identifies issues and opportunities throughout the compliance process.
- Manages the U.S. tax reporting of foreign operations and coordinates with UHY International member firms on local tax compliance, cross-border transactions, and planning opportunities.
- Applies U.S. international tax knowledge to all compliance engagements to identify and support consulting projects and planning opportunities.
Tax Planning & Advisory:
- Develops and implements international tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities, support client business objectives, and manage worldwide effective tax rates.
- Advises clients on cross-border transactions, repatriation planning, and tax-efficient structuring.
- Assists in the evaluation of tax implications for mergers, acquisitions, and entity acquisitions, dispositions, and restructuring.
- Monitors changes in existing and new U.S. tax laws and advises clients on potential impacts and planning opportunities.
- Coordinate closely with UHY International member firms on cross-border planning opportunities, local country compliance requirements, and consulting projects to provide clients with a full-service, global tax solution.
Client Management & Leadership:
- Serves as a trusted advisor to clients, providing proactive international tax guidance.
- Leads and mentors a team of international tax professionals, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Collaborates with clients, partners, and other service lines (e.g., audit, transfer pricing, consulting) to provide comprehensive client solutions.
- Maintains strong client relationships and identifies opportunities for additional services.

- Will supervise subordinate team members
Work environment
- Work is conducted in a professional office environment with minimal distractions
Physical demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and performing work in front of a computer screen for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at a time
Travel required
- Travel may be frequent and unpredictable, depending on client’s needs
Required education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 5 – 8 years of relevant experience
- CPA or Enrolled Agent license
- Experience in professional service environment, such as a CPA firm, financial consulting firm, or similar setting
- Specific positions may require additional industry or specialization certifications
- Responsible for completing the minimum CPE credit requirement
- Software: CCH Prosystem FX, Axcess Tax, Axcess Document, Axcess Workstream, Thomson Reuters Fixed Assets CS, Checkpoint for Tax Research
Preferred education and experience
- Advance degree (Master's) or additional relevant experience
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree for specialty positions
