Veterinary Assistant-Ozark Veterinary Specialty Care
Springdale, AR
Part-time: Tuesday/Wednesday, with potential for 3rd day in the future
Compensation: 16+/HR--based on experience

Ozark Veterinary Specialty Care is looking for a part-time Veterinary Assistant to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.
As a Vet Assistant/Tech you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.
Role responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support veterinarian to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients
- With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow
- Monitor patients for anesthetic procedures including surgeries, CT, and MRI
- Check in and discharge patients
- Place IV catheters and blood draws
- Fill medications as needed
- Run chemistry panels
- Take Radiographs
- Perform laser treatments
- Assist with bandage changes
- Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
- Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs. This will include sweeping, mopping, bathrooms, baseboards, trim, windows, laundry, etc.
- Clean surgical packs, wrap surgical packs, start autoclaves (gas & steam)
- Laser Treatments
- Controlled substance process
- All other duties as a required
Experience & Skills Requirements:
- Must have relevant experience
- Team player
- Knowledge on basic veterinary terminology
- Customer service experience required
