Job Description
We are looking for a Payroll Manager to support Trintech's most valuable asset - our employees. We are seeking candidates to manage and administer our domestic and international payroll processes in our fast-paced, high-growth, team-oriented environment.
The Global Payroll Manager will be responsible for handling all payroll preparation and processing duties within UKG Pro, our HRIS and payroll solution for domestic payroll, and coordinating with our In-Country Payroll Partners (ICPs) for our international payrolls. Working closely with our Accounting and Finance teams, our ideal candidate is a highly organized, experienced professional who understands the complex nature of processing payroll for multiple countries. The Global Payroll Manager must be detail-oriented and diligent, committed to accuracy in all transactions and communications.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the processing of multi-state domestic and international payrolls, ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal wage and hour laws, and other applicable statutory regulations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all international ICPs
- Manage workflows to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely for domestic and international employees
- Coordinate submission and approval of timesheets for US hourly employees
- Reconcile final payroll reports to validate proper processing of payroll taxes, 401k contributions, and benefit deductions for US payroll
- Work closely with Total Rewards Manager to ensure proper benefit deductions and benefit taxation
- Partner with Accounting team to support payroll journal entries, and review payroll tax reconciliation and tax filing reports
- Prepare bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, year-end, and ad-hoc payroll reports as requested by management
- Process miscellaneous deductions such as payroll garnishments and 401k loan repayments
- Build and maintain process and audit trails for all payroll transactions
- Create and standardize payroll-related best practices and drive continual improvements and efficiencies
- Ensure timely processing of all required employee payroll forms for local governments including W-2, PIID, etc.
- Document and enforce internal controls in compliance with SOX procedures
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all payroll related questions
- Support internal and external, domestic and international audits, as needed; perform periodic audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and identify opportunities for process improvements
- Support and implement new payroll and HRIS systems as required
- Support organizational expansion by establishing payroll processes in new states and countries, as needed
- Support growth-oriented projects such as scalability initiatives and acquisitions, as needed
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Our ideal candidate is collaborative, exhibits strong attention to detail, and brings a sense of fun and passion to the job.
- Must be customer service focused with a proven track record of successfully administering payroll across multiple countries for 5+ years. Experience with international payroll in Canada, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and Australia preferred.
- Outstanding organizational dexterity with great attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.
- Proven track record of knowledge of labor and compensation legislation and regulations across multiple countries.
- Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to get into the details as well as understanding the big picture.
- Prior familiarity with Workday and UKG Pro a strong plus.
- Demonstrated advanced-level experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Proven ability to quickly learn and utilize new software, tools, techniques, and skills.
- Experience handling sensitive organizational, department, and performance information.
- Prior experience with global mergers and acquisitions and/or IPOs preferred.
- Certified Payroll Processing (CPP) or Fundamentals of Payroll (FPC) certification is preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field of study preferred.
