Truck Driver I/II - Position Overview

Wilsonart, Cincinnati, has an immediate opening for a Truck Driver I/II. This individual drives trucks to transport materials to and from specified destinations in the assigned department/location. Performs other tasks as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies
  • Follows route/map of all accounts assigned
  • "Dispatcher" keeping constant communication with drivers on the road
  • Reviews all paperwork before trucks leave (verifying CODs, documenting arrival & departure times, etc.)
  • Post trip reporting of truck and equipment, documents returns, ensuring proper paperwork is completed
  • Ensures DOT compliance
  • Drives truck to destinations and returns safely
  • Prepares and maintains required documentation
  • Maintains truck e-log according to state, federal, and company regulations
  • Maintains acceptable driving record
  • Assists the needs of the customer as deemed necessary
  • Assists in the distribution center as necessary or directed
  • Performs other tasks as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation, state regulations, and local laws pertaining to vehicle operations
  • Knowledge of truck hauling procedures
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste materials and safe handling procedures
  • Skill in operating lift trucks
  • Ability to understand and follow directions
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area and other rules/regulations governing work activities

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

High School Graduate or GED

Must have a valid Class B or A Commercial Driver's license

EXPERIENCE

1+ years

No chargeable accidents in the last three years

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (>50 lbs) Examples: grounds staff and EMS

ENVIRONMENT: Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/grounds staff
