Salary Range: Min $32.32 Mid $39.59 Max $46.86

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for the implementation of Occupational Therapy treatment programs as established by licensed OT.  Communicates status of patient to responsible OT on regular basis.  Provides assistance to OT as needed in performing certain tests, assessment procedure, and complex treatments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Skills Required:
1. Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.  New York State licensure required; certification preferred.
2. AHA-BLS is required within 6 months of hire or a current non-AHA-BLS card will be honored up to date of renewal.
3. Complete accurate and legible documentation as per established guidelines
4. Ability to qualitatively treat all age groups and diagnostic categories in inpatient, outpatient, Skilled Nursing Facility or Sub-Acute Rehab patient settings  
5. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and caretakers regarding anticipated O.T. treatment plan, level of expected patient participation, and expected outcome  
6. Ability to communicate effectively with the public and the medical CVPH staff as a member of the Rehabilitation team

As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
