Job Title: Emergency Department Physician Assistant - PRN (As Needed)
Department: Emergency
Reports To: Director, Emergency Department
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Emergency Department team. In this fast-paced role, you’ll provide critical care to patients of all ages, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient outcomes. What You'll Do:
- Perform comprehensive medical screening exams on patients of all ages

Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests

Prescribe medications and initiate appropriate therapies

Provide wound care including suturing, incision and drainage, and splinting

Manage minor orthopedic emergencies such as joint dislocations and fractures

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff in patient care

Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care

Admit patients requiring inpatient care and coordinate specialty referrals as needed
What You Need:

Master’s or Bachelor’s degree from an ARC-PA accredited PA program

Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Nebraska

Current NCCPA certification

Current ACLS certification
-
Certification in either NRP or PALS
-
Proof of having “monitored” an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course (required for Emergency Department coverage)
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Physician Assistant in an acute care setting
