Purpose of Position:

The purpose of the Assistant Service Manager is to assist the Service Manager in managing of the service department, warranty department, express service area, and warranty administrator

Qualifications for Position:

  • Customer contact experience required
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate, evaluate, and direct staff
  • Ability to accept change and take on special tasks as needed
  • Able to fill in and write service when an advisor is missing
  • Dependability
  • Complete tasks on schedule

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing the coding on repair orders for warranty
  • Responsible for the invoicing of repair orders
  • Direct and train warranty staff.
  • Work cooperatively with all departments and personnel
  • Maintain professional personal appearance
  • Outgoing and patient personality with good customer relations ability
  • Achieve a high level of repeat service customers by ensuring the service experience exceeds owner expectations in all respects
  • Assist service manager and service advisors to maintain relationships with customers throughout the ownership period by using service communication systems
  • Assist Service Manager and service advisors achieve a high degree of customer satisfaction so that the customer satisfaction index is well above national, regional, and the market average
  • Upgrade knowledge of Ford products and services by training on the job, educational programs
  • Provide a high level of support to the new and pre-owned vehicle sales operations by ensuring their service needs are met in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure the correct handling of all aspects of the service transaction by thoroughly training and monitoring employees
  • Process weekly pay role for technicians when Service manager is out of office.
  • Maintain supply and support systems, including technical reference materials, workshop supplies, and other materials, ensuring they are current, accessible, stocked, and distributed
  • Ensure speed and accuracy of transactions by controlling administrative activities
  • Train, motivate, evaluate, develop and direct warranty and cashier staff
  • Work with Service Manager to determine appropriate staffing levels
  • Assist the Service Manager in maintaining morale, low turn over, and high promotion rate by being responsive to employees, developing their skills,
  • Quickly resolving any problems or complaints and reward superior performance
