Job Description
Under the direct supervision of licensed physicians, works interdependently and collaboratively with medical staff in order to augment and enhance the total health care of individuals, couples and families. Specializes in translating the family history, genetic diagnosis or risk and knowledge into practical information.
Genetic Counselor
Fargo, ND
Essentia Health is currently looking for a Board- Certified Genetic Counselor to support an Oncology genetics program. In addition, an ideal candidate would be willing and able to provide counseling to a variety of other medical specialties.

This position provides opportunities to: work in a collaborative, supportive, and compassionate team environment, use telehealth technologies, and aid in the development of the genetic counselor program at Essentia Health.
PRACTICE SPECIFICS
- This individual will join another genetic counselor at a busy, community Cancer Center
- Our referral base comes from a tri-state area - patients may be seen both in person or virtually
- Clinic hours: 8am-5pm
REQUIREMENTS
- Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited program
- Board certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling
- State Licensures to be obtained in North Dakota and Minnesota
- 1 year of previous experience preferred but will consider new graduates
ADDITIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to interpret and discuss genetic test procedures, results and genetic diseases in terms understandable by patients
- Promote and maintain compatible working relationships among other personnel in the department and organization
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately
