Job Description

Summary: This seasonal (temporary) position is responsible in conjunction with the Store Manager for the safe and secure operations of the facility as well as the physical condition of the property during SAM’s busy season.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 

·         Rent all available units to qualified customers thru effective sales presentations on the phone, in-person or through electronic means (email/text/etc.).

·         Sales of Store Merchandise to customers

·         Offering insurance/protection plans to customers

·         Timely collections of rent and assessed fees thru collection calls and automation processes.

·         Handle all customer inquiries or problems in a timely, courteous manner

·         Assist the Store Manager to follow state specific guidelines for all lien sales to include inventory of contents of units

·         Responsible for accurate accounting records, petty cash funds, store bank funds and company credit card usage (receipts required for all transactions). Conduct timely, accurate bank deposits.

·         Assist the Store Manager in marketing your facility according to guidelines requested by the home office or District Manager.

·         Conduct daily inspections of self-storage property twice daily, observe and respond promptly to any potential breach of security issues such as unsecured units, unsecured locks, unsecured gates, fencing, units, any evidence of tampering with anything or suspicious activity by any person or person on or around the facility. You should make sure each unit is locked or tagged daily.

·         Housekeeping/cleaning to include office, restrooms, units, hallways, buildings, etc. Ensure the cleanliness of each unit prior to renting.

·         Maintain physical property appearance, i.e., lawn care, snow removal, landscaping, mopping, changing light bulbs, trash removal, etc.

·         Security and safety of all areas of the property.

·         Record your daily arrival and departure via Timekeeper for payroll purposes

·         Work effectively with team members to achieve store goals and provide exceptional service.

·         Must have a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation to make bank deposits, conduct marketing, and run errands.

·         Other responsibilities as assigned.

Education and/or Experience Requirements: 

·         High school education with post-secondary education desired. 

·         Previous experience in storage management or retail sales a plus!  

·         Exemplary customer service skills.

Language Skills:  Must be fluent in speaking and writing the English language.

Work Hours: Varies depending on the season and business needs. May include additional hours as needed. Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Work Environment: This work is usually performed both indoors and outdoors with normal noise levels and minimal exposure to hazardous conditions.
