Job Description
About the role
We're looking for an experienced and motivated Head of Talent to join the Semgrep team. Your mission will be to scale our talent acquisition program to attract and recruit the best culturally-aligned candidates. You'll manage a candidate experience program that ensures we avoid biases, measure performance in interviews accurately and fairly, and leave every interviewee with a great impression of the company - regardless of interview outcome. You have a track record of doing this and/or have big ideas to build an exceptional program at scale.
You'll report into our Head of People and manage our recruiting team. You will thrive in this role if you are passionate about scaling systems and driving efficiency, especially diving into numbers. Others describe you as a problem solver who is proactive, dependable and driven. This position will be based in our San Francisco office with an in-office expectation at least 1-2 days/week; we do not have flexibility for you to be remote and unfortunately we cannot cover the cost of super-commuting.
While prior experience in a fast-paced, tech environment is helpful, we are more interested in your ability to be curious and problem solve. So if this opportunity excites you but you don't meet the exact requirements, apply anyway.
What you'll do
- Manage and develop our talent acquisition team
- Utilize data-driven recruiting techniques to ensure that the recruitment process is efficient and effective, providing ongoing recruited related metrics and KPIs
- Build relationships with hiring managers and leaders to ensure that their recruitment needs are met
- Maintain the high performance bar that Semgrep has established for talent and apply it as we build out various teams
- Streamline and enhance talent acquisition processes, including managing relationships with external vendors to update tool efficiencies
- Effectively drive ad hoc projects and programs across the recruiting team, using industry trends and funnel metrics to inform and inspire strategies
- Prioritize building a diverse team at every step of the recruiting process
You are ideal for this role if you have
- Have prior experience managing and leading a team, including hiring your own team members
- Experience with scaling organizations with 200+ headcount
- Thrive in ambiguity: You are joining a scaling, Series D startup, where priorities can (and will) shift and you'll need to quickly adapt
- Plan ahead: You work with the team and business to forecast needs and develop a hiring plan that will accelerate the company
- Are honest, trustworthy, and authentic: You build meaningful and credible relationships with your team and key stakeholders, leading by example and not ego
- Like working with numbers: You aren't afraid to dive into spreadsheets and develop meaningful dashboards, always tinkering with ways to improve
Compensation
Salary Range: $185,000-$215,000
Our compensation package includes equity and benefits in addition to salary.
Please note that the range listed is for someone based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
