Job Description

Summary

North Fork Builders, a Montana based general contractor, is currently hiring a Project Superintendent to join our team!

Locations

Our main office and shop are in Bozeman, MT. We have projects located in Big Sky, Big Timber and Whitefish.

Primary Responsibilities:

Pre-Construction

  • Confidence in flagging a detail to save time and budget to help the client. (Add to every phase of process…precon, construction, closeout)
  • Review and/or help estimate new projects for Proposal
  • Assist estimating of new projects after bidding process
  • Review initial schedule with PM's prior to job start for adjustments
  • Help Project Manager coordinate and select sub-contractors
  • Provide final approval in the development of subcontract agreements
  • Review initial budgets for general requirements during estimating process
  • Understands details of owner contract
  • Assists in the development of the site-specific safety plan and logistics in collaboration the Safety Director
  • Conducts pre-award meetings with all major scopes of work

Subcontractor Management

  • Subcontractor scheduling on-site
  • Subcontractor communication and coordination on-site
  • Responsible for completion of the subcontractor work per plan
  • Assist in subcontractor material coordination
  • Assist Project Manager in sample management & distribution
  • Help coordinate/ organize delivery of materials & equipment to site/shop
  • Help manage machinery and tool inventory utilizing Share My Toolbox program

Production & Quality

  • Regular and reliable attendance (40 hours per week, Monday - Thursday (10 hours/day) is typical work week.)
  • Executes NFB's policies and procedures in accomplishing work
  • Receipt and Invoice coding
  • Manage Procore project folder
  • Ability to perform various techniques (framing, trim work, siding)
  • Knowledge of start to finish carpentry
  • Operation of forklifts, skid steers, genie lifts after completion of certification
  • Knowledge of roof and wall framing
  • Ability to operate both hand and power tools
  • Advanced construction math skills and ability to teach
  • Track T&M work closely and report to Project Manager on weekly basis
  • Manage and alert team to critical deadline/approvals
  • Responsible for architect/engineer communication in the RFI process
  • Responsible for material take-offs and ordering (communication with Project Manager)
  • Complete and maintain daily logs/ daily photos
  • Review shop drawings
  • Maintain and update 2-3 week schedule look-aheads
  • Maintain and update Pro-Core daily reports
  • Assists Project Manager in updating master schedule
  • Assist with site visits
  • Manages project exit strategy
  • First line of quality control for work being performed

Safety

  • Follow jobsite OSHA compliance
  • Partner with Safety Director regarding FROI (First Report of Injury)
  • Follow NFB Loss Control Program "Safety Plan"
  • Follow NFB policies and procedures in accomplishing work

Leadership

  • Establish and foster long term, positive relationships with internal customers and external business partners
  • Responsible for training and mentoring crew members
  • Responsible for lining out and managing daily crew on roles and responsibilities
  • Consistently thinking ahead at next steps of the construction process

Physical & Environmental

  • Performs tasks that require physical labor at construction sites
  • Climb and work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting (50 lbs)
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Able to work overtime and weekends as required by the workload

Technology & Certifications

CPR/First Aid Certified

OSHA 30

Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Word, Excel, Outlook)

Proficient with Blueprint Reading

Knowledge of Building Codes
