Job Description
Connelly School of the Holy Child is an independent Catholic, college preparatory school for girls in grades 6 through 12. Rooted in the Holy Child philosophy, the school is dedicated to nurturing the intellectual, spiritual, artistic, physical, and social development of each student. Holy Child is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Physical Education Teacher to join our faculty beginning in Fall 2025. This full-time position involves teaching PE and fitness classes to students in grades 6 through 9. The ideal candidate will be passionate about health and fitness, experienced in working with adolescents, and enthusiastic about contributing to the school’s vibrant community.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Physical Education to students in grades 6–9.
- Conduct fitness classes for grades 6–8.
- Plan, develop, and implement engaging and age-appropriate PE curricula.
- Foster a classroom environment that promotes physical well-being, emotional growth, and healthy lifestyle habits.
- Motivate and challenge students to achieve personal and physical goals based on their individual abilities.
- Identify and nurture students’ athletic talents, encouraging confidence, coordination, and skill development.
- Collaborate regularly with the Athletic Director and PE department colleagues.
- Communicating effectively with the Upper School Head, Middle School Head and Athletic Director.
- Coaching one middle school sport per season as needed.
- Opportunity to coach upper school sports, if needed, with an additional stipend provided.
- Share equipment and facilities respectfully with departmental peers.
- Supervise gym, fitness center, and locker room as needed.
- Actively participate in school life, including committee work and student activities.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Education or a related field strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in grades 6–12.
- MSDE certification or eligibility preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to connect curriculum to real-world applications and student experiences.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Holy Child education.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a warm, engaging teaching presence.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Experience with differentiated instruction and diverse pedagogical approaches.
- Passion for fostering student growth through creative, active, and reflective learning.

Salary Range: $57,000- $70,000
Nevertheless, pay is commensurate with education and experience, and is calculated according to a school-wide pay scale.
