Job Summary:
Gantri is in search of a Manufacturing Engineer to nurture our efforts in refining our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in process optimization, Lean methodologies, and quality management systems. This role will involve enhancing our operational efficiency, guiding us towards ISO certification, and integrating automation into our processes where it benefits efficiency. Process Optimization
- Assess and enhance current manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and lower costs.
- Implement better production scheduling and worker performance evaluation systems.
Lean Manfacturing
- Advocate for Lean initiatives, focusing on minimizing waste and fostering continuous improvement.
- Apply 6S guidelines to ensure high standards of order and cleanliness in production areas.
Quality Management
- Guide the company towards ISO9001 certification by developing and implementing quality management systems.
- Perform root cause evaluation on production issues and returns to drive process enhancements.
Factory Layout & Efficiency
- Redesign factory layouts for optimal workflow, reducing unnecessary movement and optimizing space usage.
- Conduct time and motion studies to streamline operations.
- Experience with optimizing Additive manufacturing platforms to enhance layout efficiency.
Automation Integration
- Collaborate closely with our Automation Engineer to identify and specify areas for automation.
- Ensure that automation projects align with process optimization goals.
- Specific experience with integration of PLCs into work cells and MES for automation enhancements.
Workstation Design & Specification
- Design ergonomic and efficient workstations for assembly, quality control, sanding, or other processes, considering potential automation.
- Work with workstation systems specifications, focusing on ergonomics, layout, and integration.
Project Managment
- Oversee projects related to process improvements, factory layout changes, and quality initiatives using project management software such as Microsoft Project, Asana, Jira, or similar tools.
Soft Skills
- Proven project management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication for cross-departmental collaboration, including with design teams.
Additional Desired Skills
- Understanding of automation technologies, including robotics, vision systems, and conveyors.
- Awareness of how manufacturing processes affect supply chain logistics.
- A creative mindset with a track record of innovating manufacturing processes.
- Experience with part handling, sanding, and painting processes to inform station design.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years in manufacturing, with a focus on process optimization.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, including statistical process control, or similar methodologies.
- Knowledge of ISO9001 or similar quality standards.
- Experience with or understanding of biodegradable or sustainable materials used in additive manufacturing.
- Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or other relevant continuous improvement methodologies are a plus.
- Experience with data analysis software like JMP or Tableau.
- Design Focus:
- Experience with Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) guidelines.
- Ability to translate customer feedback into manufacturing improvements or design iterations.
- Sustainability:
- Passion for or experience in implementing sustainable manufacturing practices.
- Technical Skills:
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools to manage product development stages.
Education
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Salary range will vary based on applicable stills and experience.
