Job overview

In this entry-level role, you'll be focused on the assembly and machining of Third Members and gear components. This position is ideal for individuals who are mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and comfortable working with tools in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. Working under the guidance of experienced team members, you'll help build high-performance components with precision and care. This role plays a key part in delivering quality parts that meet Speedway Motors' performance standards and customer expectations.

Here are the specifics:

  • Assemble Third Members and gear sets according to detailed specifications, ensuring accuracy, performance, and safety standards are met.
  • Use mechanical tools and machinery including lathes, mills, torque wrenches, and other shop equipment to machine and prepare components.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to guide assembly and machining processes.
  • Measure and inspect parts to verify tolerances and fit, using precision measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Prepare and organize materials and parts needed for builds, ensuring the correct components are selected for each job.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to solve problems, make adjustments, and meet production goals.
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and follow through on commitments.

Work Environment

  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry materials up to 50 pounds regularly

and rarely push/pull up to 100 lbs.

  • Exposure to machinery, noise, and production-related hazards; use of PPE required.
  • May involve overtime

  • Work environment is fast-paced and may include fluctuating temperatures and airborne particles.

What you'll need to succeed in this position:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical schooling or related experience preferred
  • At least 18 years of age
  • A strong interest in mechanical work and the ability to learn new tools and techniques
  • Comfortable working with your hands and around shop equipment
  • Basic math and blueprint-reading skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
  • Positive attitude and a desire to grow within a team
