The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Senior Digital Electronics Design Engineer who will have the opportunity to work on R&D for advanced cutting-edge technology for the design, development, and testing of CACI/Azure's complex PCBs and PCBAs. You will work with design engineering, Firmware engineering, software engineering, and various vendors in the design development and testing of complex RF and mixed signal circuit boards from prototype to full rate production. Our amazing team supports some of the most interesting and advanced R&D tech for the military.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect the digital electronics portion of any new PCB design, based on requirements, which involves selection of major digital components i.e. processors, FPGAs, microcontrollers, data-converters, memory devices, etc… and capturing on block diagram.

  • In schematic capture phase, select the lower-level digital components and capture them on a schematic.

  • Perform electronics circuit card designs using electrical design and analysis tools including but not limited to: block diagram, schematic capture, circuit simulations, and be responsible for guiding PCB layout and verifying final design before release. Knowledge of Cadence OrCAD schematic capture and Allegro layout preferred.

  • Designing in and creating large digital BGA schematic symbols for high pin count components. For example, use of pin files (or equivalent) for the import into schematic capture to create multi-instance large digital BGA devices in the schematic.

  • Ascertain timing requirements and use pin delay files from BGA vendor for the establishment of data and clock length matching in layout.

  • Creation of firmware Interface Control Document (ICDs) based on the digital interfaces on the schematic.

  • Write low level firmware for board level controls via FPGA and/or microcontroller in VHDL and/or C/C++.

  • Control devices using various electronics components on PCBA with various interfaces such as: SPI, I2C, UART, Parallel, etc… and be able to assist in the debug of these interfaces via ability to read and write individual registers of a particular electronics device.

  • Utilize oscilloscope and/or logic analyzer in the debug of such device control interfaces.

  • Work with RF engineer in the control of RF devices for testing and debug.

  • Work in multi-disciplinary cross-functional team

  • Work with software and test engineers on the development of automated test code (ATP).

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelors in an engineering discipline. Will consider experience in lieu of degree

  • 10+ years of electronics design experience both physical hardware/firmware and embedded software.

  • Programming Languages (one or more): VHDL, C, C++, Python.

  • Experience with Xilinx (and Vivado tool) and Microsemi Tool suites

  • Work onsite in Melbourne, FL.

  • Willing and able to obtain DoD security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Desired:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and related applications.

  • Experience with Digital RF (i.e. high-speed data converters, FFTs, Nyquist, etc…)

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$85,800 - $180,200
