Job Description

The primary function of this role is to lead the development of consumer products from concept to market launch. The Senior Engineer will use standard engineering procedures for research and development to carry out assignments related to the research, design, development, support, or manufacturing of specific parts, processes, or components of products. The role involves independent evaluation, selection, and application of standard engineering techniques with minor adaptations and modifications under the general direction of a functional manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Lead Product Development: Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from concept to market launch, ensuring successful delivery of consumer products.
Communication and Product Management: Exhibit strong communication skills and product management capabilities to effectively coordinate with cross-functional teams.
Cost Modeling: Develop product cost models and manage the development of raw materials and sourced finished goods to meet consumer needs.
Collaboration: Work closely with marketing and commercial teams to deliver successful products to the market.
Technical Expertise: Apply advanced engineering and scientific principles to evaluate technical feasibility for challenging projects and solve complex customer problems using various technologies.
Project Leadership: Act as an individual contributor, core team, or technical lead for specific projects, ensuring the completion of assigned deliverables in accordance with approved schedules.
Documentation and Design Control: Author documentation and participate in design control activities, ensuring compliance with company quality and safety policies, procedures, and practices.
Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret data, identify trends, and formulate next steps while effectively performing trade-off analysis.
Innovation: Contribute to a culture of innovation by proactively generating novel concepts for new products and enhancements to current product performance.
Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other group members and cross-functional teams.
CAPA and Complaint Investigations: Lead or support Corrective Action Prevention Action (CAPA) or complaint investigations.
Schedule Management: Independently generate predictable schedules for activities related to assigned projects.
Knowledge & Experience (Minimum Job Qualifications):
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Math, or related field with 5 years of experience, or a master's degree with 3 years of experience.
Product Development: Extensive experience in product development, project management, and guiding R&D projects through a stage gate process.
Technical Skills: Strong skills in statistical analysis, root cause analysis, creative problem solving, and critical thinking. Proficiency in Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) and Design of Experiments methods.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Advanced communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Software Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word), SolidWorks or other CADD.
Travel: Ability to travel domestically and internationally (10% travel).
In Office Plan: Ability to Work onsite in Manchester, NH approximately 2 days per week onsite or otherwise as needed.
