Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage accounts payable invoices for vendor assignments using accounting software and other programs to perform the 3-way match.
Responsible for completing the contra reconciliation process.
Various month end procedures including Outside Processor reconciliation, accrual analysis, and other tasks as assigned.
Assist the payables team with questions and problem-solving regarding inventory payables process including IDP, AS400, CX or SAP.
Understand the inbound and outbound freight payment process and assist when needed
Assist with mill debit memos and the monthly reconciliation.
Complete understanding of the inventory flow through the system and purchase order structure in order to assist staff in processing invoices, efficiencies and PO errors.
Review vendor statements on a timely basis to identify and resolve issues.
Oversee Purchasing, T&E, and Fuel card programs.
Look for and assist with identifying inefficiencies in the Accounts Payable process and recommend improvements.
Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- General knowledge of accounting
- Exceptional time management, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong math and research skills
- Proficient with Excel including familiarity with lookup formulas and pivot tables
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products and Outlook
- AS400 and SAP experience preferred but not required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Prefer two years college-level coursework in related field and at least one year of experience working with accounts payable. Formal education may be substituted with experience and training when competency in the position is demonstrated.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This work is performed in an office setting with minimal to moderate noise due to computers, printers, and people.
