Caterpillar's Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary
We are seeking a Plant Security & Service Specialist. The candidate will serve as the primary security systems administrator and technical lead for the Verkada and Avigilon security systems across IPSD South Texas facilities, including Seguin, Schertz, and San Antonio. This role involves system configuration, integration, troubleshooting, and coordination with internal and external resources to ensure optimal performance and security compliance. This person will manage and monitor the development, implementation and operation of security related programs, processes, and data to mitigate risks and threats.
What You Will Do:
Develops physical security controls, participates in facility level security assessments associated with threats, alarms, WPV, intrusions, Hazmat, etc.
Conducts physical security assessments, accomplishes emergency management planning and response to ensure effective response. Operates and monitors equipment and systems.
Serve as the System Administrator for Verkada, managing organizational settings across: Cameras, Access Control, Guest Check-In, Air Quality Monitoring.
Develop and implement technical solutions to integrate production data into Verkada Helix for enhanced video search capabilities.
Design and maintain API interfaces to pull data from assembly systems, test and refine metadata injection into video streams.
Lead access control system enhancements including gathering requirements and designing new access control features, maintain process documentation and badge templates, ensure accurate processing of employee access changes (additions, removals, updates
Develop interfaces to synchronize badge data with corporate systems (e.g., Workday) and create and manage access levels included.
Coordinate installation and replacement of cameras, troubleshoot deployed cameras and collaborate with CCTV support for RMAs, partner with CCTV Solutions Engineers to resolve outages, and perform routine maintenance, including cleaning and realignment.
Coordinate installation and replacement of cameras, maintain camera setup on servers to enable viewing and storage of video, troubleshoot deployed cameras and secure replacements if needed.

Simulates and tests plant-wide emergencies, facility evacuation and shut-down procedures.
Plans for and deals with different types of emergencies.
Maintains emergency communication network and equipment and role of a communications center.
Plant Security: Knowledge of the required tools, techniques and technologies associated with plant security; ability to prevent and address theft of assets, theft of information, vandalism, sabotage and other threats to a manufacturing facility through use of technology.
Level Extensive Experience:
Monitors existing security systems and technologies for possible security leaks or fraud.
Works with all major types of security practices, tools and technologies
Assists with investigations of internal thefts, vandalism or sabotage.
Evaluates alternative tools and technologies for loss prevention.
Spearheads initiatives and practices to enlist employees in security efforts.
Additional Information:
This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
This person will travel to the 3 near facilities.

Summary Pay Range:
$71,040.00 - $106,440.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
