Job Summary:

Works under the direction and supervision of Recreation Therapist to create, implement, lead and adapt activities to ensure participants have a positive experience in group and individual activities.

Job Duties:

  • Works in conjunction with the Recreation Therapist in planning, organizing, directing, and leading therapeutic activities for participants in large and small groups.

  • Adapts activities to ensure that individual participants are successful in programs.

  • Assists in the development of monthly activities calendar and daily activities schedule, ensuring schedule is posted.

  • Documents daily attendance and notes progress and decline in program involvement by participants.

  • Assists with the purchase, organization, and storage of recreational supplies.

  • Maintains inventory and distribution of participant name tags with tags coded with information regarding level of assistance and support potential for wander, and dietary restrictions needed by participant.

  • Collaborates with Personal Care Assistants assigned to activities and assists with personal care needs as needed to promote the safety and comfort of participants.


Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures. Position Details:

  • Hours:  8:30AM - 5PM
  • Required Experience: 2 years of related work experience
  • Preferred Experience: Elderly Care
