Using excellent customer service and communications skills, your primary duties in this role include:
- Responsible for general laboratory functions and assisting with the overall delivery of patient care in the department.
- Obtains blood specimens and/or collects non-blood specimens. Processes specimens to prepare them for laboratory testing.
- Documents relevant patient interactions/information in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Manage medical and lab supplies throughout clinic.
- Updating records as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary:
Hiring range, based on experience and credentials: $20.97 - $28.37 per hour.
Workdays: This role is located at Legacy Emanuel Medical Office Building 2. Typical hours are Monday-Friday, (7:30 am-4:00 pm staggered shifts that may change based on clinic coverage needs).
Qualifications that support success in this role are based on education, experience and values including:
- Requires completion of a phlebotomy course or an accredited medical assistant course or 6 months laboratory experience and certification as a Healthcare Assistant.
- Current CPR/BLS within 60 days of hire. ACLS may be required by specialty.
- Prior OBGYN experience is strongly preferred.
- Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience is preferred. Epic experience is a plus!
- Knowledge of basic specimen collection, selection, handling, and storage.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.
- Excellent attendance and work ethic.
- Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.
- A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.
