Job Summary
Responsible for directing, leading and administering construction projects including design, budgeting, and scheduling. Exercise due diligence regarding new construction, remodels, new/specific business initiatives, other capital improvements, and investments.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
- Manages construction projects, remodel programs and other capital related to construction expenses.
- Participates in pre-development activities, in partnership with Real Estate Managers, including site analysis, cost estimates, lease reviews and development agreements to ensure cost effective solutions are attained.
- Oversees the scheduling, budgeting and financial reporting and compliance of ongoing construction projects. Manages budget; continually reviewing for cost savings and process improvements.
- Interacts and communicates with departments such as Real Estate and Operations, and internal support teams including Information Technology, Asset Protection, Environmental Health & Safety and Logistics.
- Looks for methods to reduce construction costs and duration of projects on an ongoing basis.
- Reviews and may approve related contract documentation.
Nature and Scope
- Solutions require analysis and investigation.
- Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.
- Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.
Work Environment
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Requires experience with project management in the building of distribution centers (ground up)
- Requires travel about 50%
- CAD experience preferred
- Must be able to read blueprints
- Maintain budget
- Must have strong communication skills and integrity
- Salary - $107,100.00 - $170,500.00 USD Annual -DOE
