Job Description

High Point University's Assistant Director of Campus Visits is responsible for performing duties that ensure a quality campus visit experience. Strategically develops and aligns the campus visit experience with the University brand and enrollment goals. Oversees communication to campus visit guests, including scheduling visits, pre- and post-visit communication, and problem solving with guests as needed to provide the best possible visit experience. Oversee and manage the Guest Experience Lead Program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience and Training: 2-5 years' experience preferred

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with prospective students, current students, team members, co-workers, and the public
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, parents, and campus community members
  • Understanding of college admissions

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Plans and executes admission campus visit activities including programming, scheduling, logistics, staffing, pre-visit and post-visit communications
  • Collaborates with internal and external staff on daily campus visitors, group visits and large events
  • Oversees the Guest Experience Lead program including defining roles, hiring, payment process, and image of the GELs.
  • Provides advising and leadership development for Guest Experience Lead program members
  • Supports the Admissions team in meeting its enrollment goals by actively participating in recruitment and yield programming initiatives
  • Collaborates with department leadership to propose, develop, and enhance the campus visit experience for prospective undergraduate students
  • Works with team to support group visits for secondary schools and classroom visits for prospective students
  • Collaborates with academic schools and other university departments, including athletics, student life and security
  • Assists at on-campus recruitment events
  • Collaborates and supports admissions staff with daily activities and special projects as needed
  • Oversee visit email communications to ensure accurate information
  • Maintains inventory and orders hospitality items, ensuring quality, quantity and prompt delivery
  • Works closely with the Director of Guest Experience with event planning, programming, scheduling, etc.
  • Works closely with Associate Director of Admissions for Campus Visits to manage University Ambassadors, scheduling, messaging, training, hiring, and year-round operations
  • Assists with developing new ideas and implementing improvements for the visit experience

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Performs other job-related duties as requested
  • Weekends required, as needed on rotating basis

ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Responsible for ensuring Core Value of Providing the Best Campus Visit Experience in America
  • Responsible for ensuring Campus Visit team inbox messages receive a response within 24 hours
  • Responsible for ensuring all hospitality items and other items related to campus visits are available in various locations when needed
  • Responsible for ensuring coverage from GELs for all day-to-day visit experiences (7 days a week)
