Job Title: Assistant Director, Early Education and Integrated Services

Oversees the planning and implementation of all early education services within the Early Head Start and Head Start programs. Supports the Director in ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, supports fiscal stewardship, maintains high early education standards, and effectively meets the needs of children and families. Leads and manages high-performing teams to achieve these goals.

  • Serves as a generalist, supporting all content areas through ongoing monitoring and continuous quality improvement initiatives. This includes screening, assessment, individualization, prenatal/child outcomes tracking, and coordination of ERSEA, comprehensive child development services, including mental health, disabilities, nutrition, health, parent engagement, and family development
  • Supervises program managers to ensure equitable performance management practices and district-level compliance with departmental implementation standards.
  • Oversees the data tracking and data analysis of program systems and services for OHS compliance; Utilizes a range of productivity models to enhance quality
  • Ensures effective collaboration and integration of the services team to deliver high-quality early childhood development, mental health, health, nutrition, safe environments, and disability services across inter- and intra-agency programs.

What it Takes:

  • BA/BS - Early Childhood Education, Family Studies, or related field.
  • MA - Early Childhood Education, Family Studies or related field, preferred.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience in Head Start or early child education programs.
  • A minimum of (3) years of program management experience - including large program(s), budget, and numerous contracts.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
  • Functional knowledge of AZHS Licensing Requirements.
  • Knowledge of Department of Child Safety reporting mandates.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (certification training can be provided once hired).
  • Food handlers card certification.
  • A valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card OR must qualify for a valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license and an insured, reliable vehicle.
