Description

The Tyler Technologies Legal Affairs team has an opening for an attorney who is looking for a fast-paced, challenging and constantly evolving environment. The right candidate will enjoy working on a variety of complex technology contractual and legal issues.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do:

  • Work closely with the General Counsel, Corporate and other Legal Affairs attorneys on a range of corporate transactional matters and agreements with a focus on Tyler's third-party vendor relationships
  • Review, negotiate, and draft complex inbound software licensing, cloud computing and IT infrastructure services contracts
  • Work directly with Tyler's business teams providing day to day advice and education on legal risks, complex business relationships and compliance topics
  • Work collaboratively with internal legal and business teams to create standard practices, procedures and agreements for company engagements

Qualifications

What you will bring:

  • 3-5 years of law firm or in-house corporate and transactional generalist experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:

  • software licensing and subscription contracts

  • mergers, acquisitions and integration management

  • artificial intelligence laws and policies

  • copyright and trademark law

  • digital accessibility compliance

  • international corporate legal matters

  • open source license compliance

  • Pragmatic approach to complex legal issues

  • Ability to work with cross-functional internal and external stakeholders

  • Technology background with willingness and energy to learn new areas of expertise

  • JD degree and license to practice law in any US state

  • May be required to undergo and satisfactorily pass a fingerprint background check in accordance with CJIS requirements.
