Description
The Product Development Associate will manage production projects by partnering with the Merchant team to develop apparel from conception to finalized products. They will work with direct sourcing partners to provide timely and fashionable products to customers and contribute to increasing the profit margin for the brand.
This role is hybrid and requires to be in the office 3 days a week.
What You'll Do:
- Negotiate appropriate costs and deliverables with sourcing partners to ensure the best profit margin for the products are achieved; ensures tech pack turnovers to sourcing partners and factories.
- Manage production process from point of conception to finished product.
- Work closely with buyers and product development team to ensure buyer's vision of product is achieved during the sourcing process; follow up with design team on technical design package and chart production flow; communicate with the vendors to make accurate counter samples.
- Obtain approvals for fabric, lab dip, and trims.
- Handle on-going communication with sourcing partners and resolve all production issues through teaming with appropriate business partners.
- Communicate with related business partners regarding product development progress for the assigned categories; alert the partners of any unexpected issues and negotiate resolution with factories.
- Ensure the production calendar is updated and monitored.
- Liaison with Import, Vendor Relations, and Traffic teams to ensure inbound merchandise is properly coordinated for on-time delivery.
What You'll Need:
- High School Diploma required, Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Three (3) years of product development experience in retail or wholesale with overseas offices.
- Knowledge of technical design, fabric, yarns, knit and woven construction.
- Knowledge of print techniques.
- Experience with duties and import limitations.
- Knowledge of time and action and production calendars.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Illustrates a dedication to meeting requirements of internal and external customers, responding to all customer requests promptly and thoroughly.
- Strong communication skills including ability to work in a team environment, give honest, direct feedback and is a solid verbal and written communicator.
- Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change, and maintains composure under pressure.
- Is accountable for results, approaches obstacles proactively and looks for ways to resolve problems and issues.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook (Microsoft Office Suite).

Salary: $68,640 - $76,900
