Job Description

Reporting to the General Manager, Cottages, you are responsible for ensuring the delivery of an exceptional guest and owner's product, and delivering a memorable guest/owner experience that exemplifies luxury and is consistent with the standards and values of Sea Island. You are passionate about luxury operations, service excellence and optimizing daily operations that coincide with long-term service standards and goals. The exceptional service provided at Sea Island should be extended through the team members in each step of their team member experience. You use independent judgment and problem solve; patience, empathy, ability to mediate and handle sensitive/confidential situations; strong communication skills.

Your purview of the operations will include but are not limited to Housekeeping, Maintenance, Front Desk, Concierge, Owner Services & Relations and assist in performing the duties of any front or back of house position needed to support the team. Your responsibilities include the supervision of Housekeeping and Maintenance team members and supervisors as you direct activities for quality and service that embrace our Southern luxury standards. You have a key role in staff development, including the selection and training of new team members, to include leaders, as well as evaluations and rewards. You provide meaningful individual job performance feedback and coaching to team members and other leaders. You train and direct team members in the proper use of all equipment, materials and supplies, maintaining Sea Island's standards for safety and sanitation while meeting or exceeding all regulations. Additionally, you have an important role in overseeing Housekeeping's and Maintenance's operations budget as you carefully control, monitor, and report on progress to help ensure financial goals are met. Your attentive input on departmental procedures, standards, and programs, as well as supporting the General Manager is key to meeting departmental safety, staffing, and financial goals. As a leader at Sea Island, you set the tone by consistently upholding and ensuring compliance with departmental procedures, including standards for quality, timing, attendance, and appearance. You follow and ensure all Sea Island and Cottage standards are consistently met. You maintain situational awareness of your surroundings, keeping an eye on all areas for tidiness and any general maintenance issues, ensuring that all are corrected or reported immediately. You are generous with your support and help resolve any service issues that arise in a timely and positive way, following up as needed. You enthusiastically maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, amenities, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one's ability and teach concierge the same. You are proactive in providing assistance when needed and are willing to help with other areas or duties as requested.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university
  • Minimum of five (5) years related management leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be willing to work varied hours including, weekends, holidays and split workdays according to needs of the operation. Sundays in peak season are mandatory, unless otherwise defined by General Manager.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Valid GA driver's license and favorable driving record
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and office equipment
  • Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, stretch, bend, push, pull, and walk
