Position Summary: |

The Laboratory Safety Manager is responsible for the health and safety of laboratory personnel company-wide. This position determines exposure route and risk, recommends appropriate safety measures and ensures compliance with state and federal safety and environmental regulations for the various states in which the laboratories operate. Areas of responsibility include hazard identification, employee training, waste identification and disposal, risk assessment and control, radiation safety, auditing and monitoring of compliance with safety rules and objectives by lab personnel. Salary 70k - 150k annually. Relocation assistance available. Travel 1-2 times per year for internal lab visits. |

Essential Functions: |
|
|
|
· Coordinate and interface with HSE director and managers companywide to ensure compliance with existing safety programs and systems. · Prepare and/or maintain chemical hygiene and radiation safety plans for all applicable Jacam Catalyst laboratories · Travels to laboratories at other locations as often as required to acquire and maintain a working knowledge of capabilities and hazards of each. · Ensure safety guidelines are uniformly applied across all locations · Maintain a high degree of orderliness, cleanliness · Advise on SDS interpretation and recommend appropriate chemical storage · Conduct laboratory safety audits

Qualifications: |
|
|
|
· Degree in occupational health and safety or related field preferred. · Minimum 5 years of HSE experience · Minimum 5 years in a management or leadership role · Minimum 3 years working with laboratories preferred · Sufficient knowledge of and adequate experience with various chemicals, their uses and safe handling · Comfortable in chemical manufacturing and laboratory environments · Proficient knowledge of rules and regulations governed by federal, state, and local entities · Must possess a valid driver’s license

· Computer Skills: Intermediate computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) |
