Job Description

Overview GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking two Technology Specialists to join our team. These positions will be fully onsite at the Central Greene School District in Waynesburg, PA. Position Overview As a Technology Specialist you will be responsible for delivering hands-on technical support and exemplary customer service as the first point of IT assistance for Central Greene School District. Working onsite in Waynesburg, PA as part of a two-person team, you will support and maintain the district's entire technology infrastructure-including servers, networks, end-user devices, and cloud-based systems. In addition to technical proficiency, this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a professional demeanor while working directly with faculty, staff, and students. Responsibilities Serve as the first point of contact for all onsite IT support needs across the school district. Collaborate with teachers, staff, and students to ensure continuous functionality of onsite technology. Support and troubleshoot infrastructure systems including servers, networks, wireless, phones, and cloud services. Respond to and remediate internet security threats and backup system failures. Configure, deploy, and manage iPads and MacBooks using Jamf Pro. Manage Windows Server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other roles. Deploy, monitor, and optimize the VMware infrastructure and virtual machines. Configure, deploy, and maintain desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and associated software. Provide technical support for Windows 10/11, iPads, MacBooks, and mobile devices. Support printers and peripherals, including hardware malfunctions, driver issues, and network printing. Configure security settings, email accounts, and encryption protocols on all devices. Assist with application and email system troubleshooting, including third-party vendor coordination. Maintain and update technology inventory and document network architecture. Participate in monthly vulnerability scanning and proactive monitoring activities. Attend and support school board meetings and be available during regular school hours. Create and maintain documentation, user training materials, and contribute to the internal knowledge base. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 2+ years of IT support experience in a school or enterprise environment. Proficient in Windows OS troubleshooting, network diagnostics, and hardware support. Experience with Jamf Pro, Windows Server administration, and VMware environments. Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to work with non-technical users. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with managing user accounts, file/folder permissions, and domain administration. Understanding of Active Directory, network protocols, and printer/peripheral troubleshooting. Must pass required background checks, clearances, and Act 168 disclosure. Preferred Experience 3+ years of progressive IT support experience, ideally in a K-12 or public sector environment. Experience with Cisco or other enterprise-grade networking systems (firewalls, switches, WAPs). Exposure to Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace for Education administration. Experience with mobile device management (MDM) tools and best practices. Familiarity with backup systems and antivirus/endpoint protection solutions.
